Wolf Wisdom
George Monbiot explains how reintroducing wolves to Yellowstone National Park after a 70-year absence set off a “trophic cascade.” — http://blog.ted.com/2014/02/18/video-how-wolves-can-alter-the-course-of-rivers/
My personal comment:
The interactive processes inherent in the balance of nature is a teaching tool for us humans, but a source of puzzlement, as well. Being at the top of the species’ food chain and the regnant predator, the question is how much predation (competing for food/survival) is good, how much is bad. And if “competition” IS spiritual wrong view, as suggested by many paths, how do we approach being in perfect relationship to each other and other life forms. Vegetarianism, while epitomizing for many the ultimate honoring of life (as it once did for me) provides an easy out for avoiding deeper levels of examining suffering and our part in it.
