Despite the hyperbolic title of this piece, It does illustrate the rubber band stretching of the democratic party.

Here’s an idea: Let’s not repeat the debacle of the last election. Vote hard in the primaries for the candidate that speaks for you. Then on to the general election, and vote with resolve for the candidate with the most electability to take back our teetering democracy from this right-wing infestation of despotism, criminality, and contempt for the rule of law. Whatever your revolution branding, we must take back the power, grab the reins of equality and justice and burnish them over the stain on these founding ideals. We cannot advance our democracy, this continuing work in progress, if we have no leverage to advance it. We must be strategic, smart, yet unrelenting in recreating the American ideal. It is not lost, because we carry it in our hearts. This battle is not for the Soul of the DNC, as narrowly suggested by the article, it’s for the soul of the nation, of ''we the people’, warts and all. Let’s do this, let’s get it on, let’s get it done.

“The Baby Boomers are the worst American generation since Reconstruction.” – Zach Carter

Seriously?!

Condescending and skewed condemnation of a whole generation of Americans masquerading as journalism. The typical assigned birth year period for Baby Boomers is between 1946 and 1964, divided into two groups: The Leading-Edge – 1946 to 1955 (Vietnam War era) and the Late or Trailing Edge – 1956 to 1964. The negative overgeneralization of all Americans born during this time is a startling, purposeful warping of history to incite millennial political activism. This one-size fits all definition – ignoring the diverse economical, racial, and ideological makeup of baby boomers – is a cynically distorted simplification slanted strategically for millennial consumption. It’s a crafted good guy/gal revolutionist vs. boomer boogie man/woman propaganda piece, ostensibly “informing” but, in fact, prejudicing unsophisticated thinkers. The “socialism” explanation is not about clarification; it’s about tacitly headlining “social democrat” in the sorting out between old guard and new guard. Hopefully in this sorting, liberal progressives will have the discernment missing the last time around to figure out who the real enemy is.
