Roundup from the Ground up

Wednesday, July 3, 2019 11:16 AM

The Dept. of Health & Human Services should stand up for Americans and not let their health assessment on the weed killer Roundup – whose truth is damning to the pesticide industry – be swept under the rug. They don't work for them; they work for us.

What could Monsanto (recently acquired by Bayer) and ilk possibly be afraid of? Hmm… Perhaps the following:

  • Over the past year, THREE court cases have blamed Roundup for causing cancer, fining Bayer Billions of dollars.
  • Over 13,000 additional plaintiffs await their day in court.
  • Roundup is the company’s flagship weedkiller, used ubiquitously on farms, parks, lawns, gardens, golf courses, and playgrounds from coast to coast. (In other words moolah, lots of moolah at risk).
  • Glyphosate’s cancer risk laid bare in an official U.S. government report obliges states and businesses to reduce or remove herbicides of similarity to Roundup as a preventative of more damage to our health and environment.

Urge the Department of Health & Human Services, in the words of the Sierra Club, "to finalize their draft toxicological profile for glyphosate and demonstrate, once and for all, that the U.S. government recognizes the well-studied relationship between glyphosate exposure and cancer risk. Policymakers and the public must be aware that pesticides that use glyphosate as an active ingredient, such as Roundup, may cause cancer. We simply can't continue to put people in harm's way." Go to the Sierra Club.
